Mascara is one of those products that you can have a million of, and none of them will have the same effect. Some factors that will affect your mascara's application are the brush size, color (note: there is a difference between black and carbon black.), the mascara formula itself, and your lashes.
You will need a different mascara for various results and situations. For example, the first mascara shown, I use for a travel sized one. It was given as a gift from Lancome, and it's perfect for slipping into your tiniest clutch. The second mascara was an impulse buy from Covergirl. Something about the huge brush and the loud orange packaging..next thing I knew, it was in my makeup bag. The third one is one I still continue to love, and it's a great drugstore purchase. Plus it's waterproof. Double whammy. It does clump sometimes though, so be sure to have a lash comb on hand. The next mascara is my absolute favorite. And it came as a gift! It lengthens lashes beautifully, without any clumps and goes on thinly. You can barely tell it's there. I love it. The fifth mascara is ehh. It's brush is flexible, but very thin. I guess it works well as a lengthening mascara, but I'm more for thickening. It's good for a natural look. The next mascara, Covergirl Waterproof Lash Blast Volume has a huge brush. However, it works pretty well and barely fades after a full day of swimming. The next mascara, the Flirt! one, is a bit strange. The brush is almost spoon-like with barely there bristles. It clumps and doesn't seem to lengthen at all. The next and final mascara has a thin brush, doesn't clump, as is good for reaching those difficult-to-reach lashes, and your lower lashes. It also holds a nice curl.
I would definitely recommend for a makeup counter mascara, get Lancome Doll Lashes. And for a drugstore, I like Maybelline New York The Falsies.
Xox,
Mia
